The New Mushy Face Behind
Karalyn’s Craft Shack

When Nugget had her last shift at Karalyn’s Craft Shack, Bourbon stepped in like a slightly underqualified, slightly unhinged but wildly confident intern who had skimmed the employee handbook once and then eaten it. Filling Nugget’s paws is no small task, especially since they are filled with legacy, loyalty, and the occasional trapped treat crumb.

Bourbon approaches the role of "Acting Chief Inspection Officer" with dramatic flair, conducting quality control by dramatically sitting on packages, sighing heavily at ribbon selections, and personally taste testing any item that sounds remotely snack adjacent.

He has implemented several bold policy changes including Mandatory Belly Rub Breaks and the revolutionary “If It Fits, I Sits on Inventory” initiative. While Nugget ran the Shack with dignified supervision, Bourbon prefers a more paws on leadership style, which mostly involves paws on everything.

Staff may question his methods, but morale has never been higher, drool related incidents have increased slightly. The shack is in capable, if slightly slobbery paws 🐾

The Original Mushy Face Behind Karalyn’s Craft Shack

Nugget the wrinkled English Bulldog who started it all. Karalyn’s Craft Shack began with a snoring bulldog in the corner of my craft room, surrounded by cricut machines, printers, and possibility. I started designing my own home decor inspired by her smiling face, her zoomies, and a personality that somehow managed to be equal parts stubborn & curious. Friends began asking me to make pieces for them, and before long, what started as creative therapy quietly blossomed into something bigger.

Nugget napped faithfully while I worked, occasionally opening one eye to ensure quality control was being maintained. She sniffed every box as if it personally offended her. She “helped” in ways only a bulldog can. Eventually, she was promoted to "Chief Inspection Officer," a title she carried with dignity and a strong work ethic. For every order placed, she received a treat. This was, without question, her favorite part of the job.

Nugget was ten when she passed away in May 2025. Losing her left a space in the craft room that can never truly be filled. But her spirit remains in every design, tucked into every package, and through the heart of this business. Her legacy lives on in the joy she inspired, the laughter she created, and the love that built this Shack from the ground up.

About Karalyn's Craft Shack

Welcome to the Shack! Karalyn’s Craft Shack started with a very specific problem: I couldn't find the "perfect" decor that captured the hilarious, stubborn, and lovable spirit of my favorite pets. I was looking for funny, high-quality bulldog and pet-themed items, and when the shelves came up empty, I decided to fill them myself. Five years ago, I unboxed my first Cricut machine, and I haven't looked back since. What began as a personal hobby has evolved into a full-blown passion for creating unique, handmade home decor. From vibrant wind spinners to witty kitchen towels, every piece is crafted with a love for animals and a touch of humor. I love designing pieces that celebrate the bond between you and your furry friends. I hope you find something here that makes your home feel a little more "paws-itive!"
